Collision Over Roles of Women Sets Off Combative Debate Along the Trail

Week 9 Post

This article talks about how Hillary Rosen scathingly said that Mitt Romney's wife, who is a stay at home mom, "had never worked a day in her life." This tactless and demeaning comment inevitably ignited a massive debate on the roles of women outside the workplace. I am shocked and disgusted that this woman who is in a position  would speak in such deragatory terms about another woman. I strongly believe that  Hilary Rosen should be removed from her position of authority and made to stay with children for a week, then see if being a stay at home mom does not count as work.

  1. I agree, this lady cannot speak if she has not experienced being a stay at home mom or even a working mom herself. Looking after children is one thing but a stay at home mom pretty much runs the household. Singles have it even harder because they don’t have a spouse to fall back on, therefore they need to work and be a mom. This lady should get her facts straight before she speaks, especially if you work in the White House.

  2. Being a stay-at-home mom is one of the hardest, most challenging jobs out there, since it is a 24-hour job, everyday! The women who choose to stay home with their children have the most important role in the world today: they are bringing up the next generation of doctors, politicians, humanitarians, etc. The list goes on and on. It's a huge responsibility! Clinton should realize this, and think a little about the things she says before they come out of her mouth.

  3. I think that this comment was a terrible thing to say against stay at home mothers and is in no way true. This comment has just sparked another battle between women while the men are already at war as well.
